COME FOR THE ART … STAY FOR THE SHOW

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Anne Dunne’s life has been one of transformation — from nun to stewardess, activist to artist. Born in 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota she left the convent to explore the world. Now in Greenbelt, Maryland, she continues to weave her experiences into her art.
ABOUT THE ART
Ann’s portraits are more than images; they are dialogues — exchanges between the artist and subject. Rather than striving for perfect likeness Ann lets curiosity guide her hand.
Many of these works are featured in her newly published book : Conversations with Unexpected Guests, which invites readers to step into the dialogue.

“I shall name you Lilly — as I look at you, the pure scent of a new picked lily of the valley floats across the page to me, light as a whisper…”
